Assuming you know anything about SEO and haven’t been living under a rock for the last 5+ years, then you have certainly heard about using PBNs, or Private Blog Networks, to increase rankings. The reason everyone has heard about PBNs is simply because they work so well. Today I want to simplify and layout a process that you can start doing today to greatly increase your odds of success at ranking websites.
The key to building a PBN is to purchase domains that come pre-packaged with power. And by power I mean links of their own. The simple strategy is that you purchase a domain that already has power and popularity, then you build a website on that domain, and place a link on that website pointing towards your money site. Don’t over complicate things, it really is that simple.
So the first step if finding powerful domains for your PBN. You have a lot of options here, but I’m going to focus on my personal favorite which is buying expired domains. The great thing about finding and buying expired domains is there is not middle man marking up the price of the domains that you find.
So how do you go about finding expired domains? Again, there are options, but if you want power and control, then you’ll want to go with an expired domain crawler or expired domain scraper to make the process easier. My preferred crawler is Project Lazarus. Basically you tell Project Lazarus a list of sites that you want it to crawl, and it will go and spider those sites and find domains that are being linked to from those sites that are no longer registered. You, the savvy internet marketer, then swoop in and buy up those expired domains, claiming the link-juice that was being passed to them, and point them towards you ranking project site.
Once you have your expired domain, the next step is to build a site on that domain. For this, you’ll need website hosting. My favorite marketplace to find hosting deals is WebHostingTalk.com. Look in the shared hosting deals forum to find a never-ending supply of cheap hosting deals.
Next, you’ll need to build a website on your new domain at your new host. You can easily do this yourself in wordpress by throwing up a free wordpress theme and creating a few pages of content. I suggest the content is either relevant to the domain that you purchased, or relevant to the money site that you’ll be linking to. Then, you just find a natural looking place within the content to link back to your website.
Rinse. Repeat. Rank.
It really is that simple, and if you aren’t certain how to do any of those steps, Google it my friend. This is not rocket science, just get busy!
